MECHANISM OF ACTIONS :
• Local anesthetics
, such as Lidocaine to temporarily relieve the
pain .
• Anti –
inflammatory agents : such as Hydrocortisone
acetate that reduces inflammation .
• Astringents (
drying agents ) , such as Zinc oxide and Aluminium sub acetate These help shrink
hemorrhoids by pulling water out of the swollen
tissue . this , in turn , helps relieve itching
, burning and irritation .
• Protectants ,
such as Hard fat which soothes irritated tissues
and form a protective barrier to prevent further
irritation .
INDICATIONS :
Antihemorrhoid ointment and suppository are
indicated for symptomatic relief of pain and
pruritus due to hemorrhoid disease .
CONTRAINDICATIONS :
Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients .
PRECAUTIONS :
• If a rash or any
other sign of an allergic reaction occurs , stop
using the medicine .
• Do not use
Antihemorrhoid drugs for more than seven days in
a row .
DRUG INTERACTIONS :
Concomitant administration of this medicine with
other medications such as salicylates , oral
anticoagulants , hypokalemic drugs , insulin and
other blood sugar lowering agents , and
isoniazide should be performed with caution due
to drug interactions . Some Antihemorrhoid drugs
should not be used by people who are taking or
have recently taken monoamine oxidase inhibitors
( MAO inhibitors ) , such as phenelzine or
tranylcypromine , used to treat conditions
including depression and Parkinson's disease .
Anyone who is not sure if he or she has taken
this type of drug should check with a physician
or pharmacist before using an Antihemorrhoid
drug . People who are taking antidepressants or
medicine for high blood pressure also should not
use certain Antihemorrhoid drugs .
ADVERSE EFFECTS :
Local burning and pain , anorectal bleeding ,
and allergic reactions . |

• Dosage has not
been established in pediatrics .
• This medicine
should only be used under physician supervision

The duration of treatment is short and if
symptoms do not disappear quickly , treatment
should be discontinued and further investigation
should be performed .
• Due to
hydrocortisone , this medicine should not be
administered in patients with bacterial , viral
, mucotic , or parasital infections .
• Usage in pregnancy :
category B
• Usage in lactation :
caution should be exercised when administering
to nursing woman . |
DOSAGE :
Use one suppository or one applicator of
ointment in the morning and one at night or as
directed by the physician .
HOW SUPPLIED :
Topical ointment in 15 gram tubes .
Antihemorrhoid as suppository . 10 suppositories
in one box .
STORAGE :
Store between 2-30º C for ointment and between
8-15º C for suppository .
Protect from freezing
