PHARMACOKINETICS :
Benzydamine is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory
agent which is well absorbed into inflamed oral
mucosa following topical administration .
INDICATIONS :
Relief of painful conditions of the oral cavity
including tonsillitis , sore throat , radiation
mucositis , aphthous ulcers , post-orosurgical
and periodontal procedures .
CONTRAINDICATIONS :
Known hypersensitivity to the drug or to any
components of the vehicle .
ADVERSE EFFECTS :
Generally well tolerated , side effects are
minor and include :
• local : oral
numbness , burning and stinging .
• systemic :
gastrointestinal upsets .
DOSAGE :
Use undiluted as a mouthwash for at least 30
seconds every 1.5-3 hours .
Adult : 15 mL Children : 5-15mL
Safety and efficacy in children under 6 years of
age has not been established .
HOW SUPPLIED :
Oral solution 0.15% in 120 mL pets .
